In 2020, the world was surprised by the covid-19 pandemic. The selection of films was already underway when social distancing was decreed, and we quickly reorganized to hold a festival entirely online. The schedule was shown on the Innsaei.tv platform throughout Brazil, as well as webinars, lives and virtual meetings.
Social distancing forced us to rethink our ways of acting, and also made us reflect on our values and priorities. The pandemic highlighted the lack of consistent health and education policies that have been demanded by the population for so long, but it also made clear the vital importance of culture in our society.
From their real and virtual windows, people sang, projected, read, laughed, and cried. The short film, once again, was quick to bring the realities of this new world to the screen.
